Worn grew up in a village outside Chiang Rai—the same village where The Freedom Story has its base. Orphaned at a young age, but encouraged by his grandmother to pursue higher education—a rare opportunity made possible by a scholarship—Worn has always had an interest in national development initiatives among the rural poor. With a Master of Science in Chemistry from Chiang Mai University and more than a decade of scientific research experience, including as a Visiting Research Scholar at California State University Fullerton, Worn is the Thai director of the Seri project with the desire to help people become self-sufficient, able to provide for themselves and the education of their children, and share what they have with others.
Tiffany joined the Seri project this year as a product designer. After working for the LA-New York Fashion Industry, she has transitioned into working with The Freedom Story, wanting to impact more than just the runway. She supports Seri through technical design, innovation and market research. For Tiffany, “Being creative and helping people is the ultimate dream.”
Having grown up in a family passionate about issues of social justice, it was no surprise when she dedicated her life to advocating for sexually-exploited women and children. Rachel graduated from Westmont College in 2005 with a Bachelors in Business and Marketing, then she worked in youth ministry before heading back to school at Fuller Seminary for a Masters in Intercultural Studies with a concentration in children at risk.
Shannon joined the Seri team after supporting The Freedom Story as a local representative. After working in leadership consulting for three years, she was ready to work in a role that helps make a positive impact in the world, so she decided to get more involved with Freedom Story. Passionate about using business to drive social change, she’s assisting with the operations, finances, and the business plan to get Seri up and running.
Lauren Ellis started working as a graphic designer at 18 and by 26, she left her agency job to help start up a small web agency in downtown Austin where she worked as Creative Director. Since then, she left her home in America behind to work with The Freedom Story. She has joined the Seri team to spearhead marketing and branding, in addition to building and maintaining the Seri website.
